Notebook PCs
are light, powerful, durableand they give you true freedom
and mobility.
They make it convenient to work, study, and enjoy your movies
and music anywhere. Plus, they can offer as much processing power
and memory as desktop models.
Notebook PC features to consider
Display size: Notebook
PC displays range from 10" to 17".
A 17" widescreen display with a wide viewing angle and high resolution
is ideal for watching movies and editing photos.
Wireless capabilities: To
get online from public places, your home, or anywhere within
150 feet of a Wi-Fi base station, you’ll
need a wireless LAN modem. To allow your PC to communicate, cable-free,
with other wireless devices (such as printers) within a range of
about 30 feet, you’ll need Bluetooth. Learn
more wireless basics.
Batteries: Lithium-ion
batteries typically last up to three hours.* You can double your
notebook PC’s uptime by carrying an extra
battery.
Weight: Most
notebook PCs weigh between three and 10 pounds. A lighter notebook
may not have an internal CD/DVD drive, but it’s easier
to take with you than a heavier model.
If you aren’t ready to
buy a new computer, upgrading your current PC is another option. Boost
your processor speed if you want to play computer
games. Add memory to run more applications at once. And consider
a flat-panel LCD monitor for crisp visuals.
