Merchant Bulletin MB2007-08 October 26, 2007 Discover Acquiring Program/Changes to Cash Advance Processing We are pleased to announce NOVA has signed a merchant acquiring agreement with the Discover® Network. Under the terms of the agreement, NOVA is now performing all customer support, underwriting, risk management, settlement and reporting for new merchants accepting Discover Cards. This program eliminates the need for new merchants to establish a separate processing agreement with Discover. As part of the acquiring program, we will be consolidating the settlement and reporting of cash advance transactions. Effective October 31, 2007, the settlement for your financial institution’s Discover cash advance transactions will post to the same DDA used to settle Visa and MasterCard cash advance transactions. In addition, Discover, Visa and MasterCard cash advance transactions will now be reported and consolidated on one month-end Merchant Services statement. You will no longer receive a separate statement from Discover. The following are the changes you may expect: Effiective Date:   October 31, 2007 Funding:   You will receive funding for Discover cash advance transactions at the same time you receive funding for Visa and MasterCard cash advance transactions. Funding DDA:   Settlement for Discover cash advance transactions will post to the same DDA established for the branch/bank’s Visa and MasterCard cash advance transactions. Statements:   The bank will no longer receive a separate Discover statement. All Discover, Visa and MasterCard cash advance transactions will be reported on one merchant statement. Batch Settlement:   There will be no changes to the batch/settlement process. Rules & Regulations:   Continue to follow the same rules used to validate the credit cards and identity of cardholders prior to processing cash advance transactions as you have used in the past. Please distribute this information to your bank branches to ensure that the branch staffs are prepared for the changes that will take place on October 31, 2007.
