Overview 
Elan Financial Services is communicating with Visa 
USA as they are working with law enforcement and a 
U.S. based retailer to investigate a compromise of 
card account information from the retailer's systems. 
This breach resulted in the compromise of credit and 
debit card transaction data including some Elan-issued 
credit cards. Personal information held at Elan has not 
been breached. 

Corrective Measures 
Elan is taking measures to ensure that any cardholder 
impacts from this compromise are proactively managed. 
We are in the process of reviewing the compromised data 
and will actively monitor all of the card accounts that 
may be affected. We encourage all cardholders to 
regularly review their most recent transaction history 
on debit and credit card accounts to determine if there 
were any unauthorized transactions. 

Cardholder Impacts 
All cardholders are protected from fraudulent activity 
by our zero liability policy. If we determine that a 
cardmember’s account is a fraud risk, Elan will contact 
the cardmember and issue a new card and account number.
