It’s a familiar scene in every household with kids: A young child is sitting in Time Out.... and instead of quietly reflecting about what he or she has done wrong, all they do is scream and get worked up.
A Time Out Bottle is the perfect way to calm down and keep your little one in place. After shaking out some frustration, your rule breaker sits and watches the glitter settle, just like them. Once all of the glitter has settled on the bottom, they are free to go.
Shop at Dollar Tree — Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Plastic drink bottle in a size that your little one’s hands can grip.
- About 1.55 oz. Glitter Glue in a color of your choice
- A few Packets of fine glitter in your choice of colors
- Superglue
- Optional: Sequins or Shaped Confetti
- Optional: A drop or two Food Coloring
Easy Step-by-Step Directions:
- Remove labels and any sticky residue from the bottle.
- Fill your bottle halfway with hot water.
- Squeeze a little more than half of the bottle of Glitter Glue into the bottle.
- Put the lid on the bottle and shake until the glue is dissolved.
- Pour several packets of fine glitter into the bottle. Add a drop of food coloring and/or confetti/sequins to the mix if you wish.
- Fill the bottle the rest of the way with hot water, close the lid and shake again. If the glitter clumps together or settles too quickly, add more glitter glue. If it is settling too slowly to your liking, pour a small amount out and add more water.
- Dry the cap and mouth of the bottle completely and spread superglue on the threads. Screw the lid on tightly to avoid a mess later.
