Preparing Thanksgiving dinner can be hectic. The last thing you want to hear among the stress of cooking a HUGE dinner are cries of “I’M BORED” coming from your favorite little party guests! Put your little ones to work creating these Tabletop Turkeys... you’ll have an added decoration for your Thanksgiving table AND keep everyone busy and happy in the process!
Shop at Dollar Tree — Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Thin Cardboard (Reuse the front and back panels from cereal boxes, or use the backing from a pad of construction paper)
- Construction Paper
- Glue
- Scissors
Easy Step-by-Step Directions:
- Cut the cardboard into strips — we started with a 9x12" sheet and cut it into two 4½x12" pieces.
- Fold each strip in half and then in half again so you have four equal sections. Round the corners on one end to make a head shape.
- Form into a triangle (overlapping the rounded end on top of the bottom section) and glue in place.
- Cut out a beak, waddle, eyes, and feathers from the construction paper and glue in place on your cardboard to create a turkey (see photo).
Fun Tips:
- Write each guest’s name on the feathers to use these little cuties as place cards.
- Have everyone write something they’re thankful for on each feather before gluing it in place to get everyone into the Thanksgiving spirit!
