Looking for a fun way to include the kids in the excitement of New Year’s Eve (who are we kidding... adults will love this idea, too!)? End 2013 with a bang by counting down the hours with balloons! Just blow up and tape balloons to a wall, or hang across a mantel or doorway. Use a permanent marker to write the hours leading up to midnight and pop each balloon as the time passes... they’ll be counting down the minutes ’til the next pop!
Fun Tips:
- Add confetti, small wrapped candies, or glitter to the final balloon.
- Write fun activities to do on little slips of paper for every hour of your countdown. Tuck one inside each balloon. Some ideas: Eat a cupcake (hunt for the New Year’s Eve Cupcaketini on this month’s Value Seekers Club Page for a glam way to serve one up!), do a dance, sing a song, tell a favorite story or draw a picture of a memory from the last year, reveal a wish for the coming year, call Grandma, play a game, etc.
