What do you do with all the scraps from the Flower Lollipop and Heart Tree ideas on this month’s Value Seekers Club page? Cut ‘em up into confetti and make a chic and fun bowl for your coffee table!

Shop at Dollar Tree — Here’s What You’ll Need:

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Cut up paper scraps into pieces (less than ½" in size), or use a hole punch for circular pieces. You’ll need about 2 cups worth of confetti scraps to cover a 10" balloon.
  2. Create a glue solution by thinning glue with water at a ratio of 2 parts glue to 1 part water.
  3. Blow up the balloon and spread the glue solution on the round side (top). Sprinkle the “confetti” over the balloon until the glue is covered. It’s OK if there are small bare spots.
  4. Set the balloon, knot side down, on a glass or vase to dry completely.
  5. Once dry and spread another layer of the glue solution over the first layer, using your fingers to smooth down any loose confetti pieces that are sticking up. Sprinkle more confetti until it covers the first layer. Allow to dry again.
  6. Repeat 2-3 more times, making sure to cover the balloon evenly and fill in bare spots. Let dry.
  7. When you have covered the balloon with 2-4 layers of confetti, apply 2-3 coats of the glue solution, allowing time to dry in between each layer. This will give your Confetti Bowl a smooth finish.
  8. Once completely dry, pop the balloon and trim the edges.

Fun Tip:

Note: Only fill the Confetti Bowl with dry objects (nothing wet). Also, the Confetti Bowl is for decoration only, do not place food inside of the bowl.
