Balloon Painting

Balloon Painting

Kids of all ages love to get in on the holiday decorating... even toddlers will have fun with this unconventional painting technique! Simply lay out a piece of poster board, blow up a few balloons, and let your little Monet dip and create to her heart’s content. Kids can easily create green trees and wreaths (add some colorful ornaments with smaller balloons), blue and white snowmen, twinkling lights, and so much more. The best part is that as soon as the creating is over, you don’t have any paintbrushes to wash — just toss the plates and balloons in the trash and hang the dried masterpieces to add some special holiday cheer!

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Put coordinating paint blobs on a disposable plate and lightly swirl with a knife — use colors such as blue, yellow, green, and white to make a tree or wreath; or white, blue, and purple to make snowmen.
  2. Partially blow up a few balloons — you don’t want to make them too big for little hands to grip or easy to pop or you’ll have a big mess on your hands!
  3. Use the balloon as a stamp to make lovely marbled pictures on the poster board.
