Clever and affordable, this attractive fall wreath has lovely, go-with-anything neutral tones and will make a great decoration for your front door, hallway, or classroom. If you can’t find a wreath form, snag a leftover pool noodle and tape the ends together... easy peasy!
Shop at Dollar Tree — Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Brown Craft Paper, Cream-Colored Construction Paper, or Other Neutral-Toned Paper
- Wreath Form (or pool noodle)
- Glue
- Tea Bags or Coffee Grounds (optional)
- Twine or Ribbon
Easy Step-by-Step Directions:
- Cut leaves out of paper (basically just ovals with pointy ends). Keep cutting until you have a large pile of “leaves” to work with... don’t worry about making them a uniform size.
- Optional: soak some of the lighter-colored leaves in coffee or strong tea to create a soft, tonal effect. The longer they stay in the mixture, the darker they become (the coffee smell will fade). Allow the leaves to dry before moving on to step 4.
- Tie ribbon or twine to the wreath base and form a loop on the back for hanging. Glue in place.
- Glue leaves to the wreath form in rows, each layer overlapping the last, until the form is completely covered. Glue in extra leaves to cover any bare spots.
- Lightly curl the ends of some leaves with your fingers to give a ruffled look.
- Hang by a hook or nail on a protected door or wall (this one is definitely not weatherproof!).
Fun Tips:
- Use book pages for a different look, perfect for classroom décor!
- If neutrals are not your thing, cut leaves out of colored construction paper in your favorite team colors to show off your team spirit.
