Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Cut leaves out of paper (basically just ovals with pointy ends). Keep cutting until you have a large pile of “leaves” to work with... don’t worry about making them a uniform size.
  2. Optional: soak some of the lighter-colored leaves in coffee or strong tea to create a soft, tonal effect. The longer they stay in the mixture, the darker they become (the coffee smell will fade). Allow the leaves to dry before moving on to step 4.
  3. Tie ribbon or twine to the wreath base and form a loop on the back for hanging. Glue in place.
  4. Glue leaves to the wreath form in rows, each layer overlapping the last, until the form is completely covered. Glue in extra leaves to cover any bare spots.
  5. Lightly curl the ends of some leaves with your fingers to give a ruffled look.
  6. Hang by a hook or nail on a protected door or wall (this one is definitely not weatherproof!).
