Sidewalk Chalk Paint
Sidewalk Chalk Paint

If you have kids, sidewalk chalk is a summer staple. But, what do you do with all those little bits that are too small to draw with? Stretch your dollar (and save your fingertips) and make chalk paint! The kids can bring out their inner artist by pouring and tossing the paint on the sidewalk. They can blend and swirl the colors together just like their indoor paints, only these wash away with the next rain or quick spray of the garden hose!

Shop at Dollar Tree – Here's What You'll Need:

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Separate chalk bits by color into plastic zip-seal bags.
  2. Pound each bag with the rubber mallet until the chalk is a fine powder (wrap the bag in a towel to minimize bag breakage).
  3. Dump chalk powder into individual cups and stir in enough water until the paint has the desired consistency, like that of a creamy soup.
  4. Use spoons, paintbrushes, sponges, hands, or just pour on the sidewalk to make great art!
