Our trend-trackers here at Dollar Tree have been seeing some beautiful art popping up. We've noticed bold-colored abstract art being used as a statement piece, or among a gallery of photos and prints in homes. Upon closer inspection, we discovered that it would be TOTALLY easy (and MUCH cheaper) to create these bold prints ourselves! With just a few items from Dollar Tree and little creativity, you, too, can create these and other lovely pieces of abstract art.

Here's How it Works:
- Bright Polka Dots — Using your fingertips (or your kids' fingertips), paint various dots onto white poster board. The key here is to keep like colors together (blues and greens on one end; pinks, reds, and yellows on the other). Allow only a few select dots to cross the center to mingle with the opposite colors.
- Bold Lines — Using toy trucks of various sizes, cover their textured wheels in paint and drive them all over your paper. Start with a dark color first, then layer the lighter colors on top. Use different colors on tires of different textures and sizes, and roll them across in different directions.
Think of other items around your house that you can use to create different textured patterns... the sky's the limit! For example, try feathers, sponges, old shoe soles, etc.
