It's official... Christmas is over. Now it's time to put away all of the Christmas decorations. Oh, what fun it is…. NOT! Here are a few quick tips to help make cleaning up Christmas a little merrier (plus, they'll leave more jingle in your pocket):
- If you have more Christmas lights than Clark Griswold, you're probably looking for a stress free, untangled way to store them. Help yourself next year by putting all your lights away properly this year! Pick up a few plastic hangers from Dollar Tree and wrap one strand of Christmas lights around each hanger. Voilà... no tangled mess. Trust us — you'll thank us later, even if it isn't
until next year!
- If you have a lot of Christmas lights, you probably have a lot of extension cords, which only adds to the tangled mess. Grab a spare toilet paper roll (you're sure to have lots left over after all those holiday visitors), wrap your extension cords in a loop and slide the toilet paper roll over the top. Here's a tip: write the length of the extension cord, or where in the house you used it, on the toilet paper roll so next year you'll know exactly what to do with it. No fuss, no muss... and NO mess!
- Your aunt wrote you a sweet, heartfelt note inside her Christmas card, didn't she? And, all of your cousins sent out adorable cards with pictures of their kids on the front, right? How can you throw all those cards away? If you just can't part with this year's Christmas cards, bind them together into a little display book! Simply punch two holes in every card, stack the cards on top of each other, lining the holes up, and tie them together with a piece of pretty ribbon (from Dollar Tree). Now you have a cute little organized book of greeting cards that you can enjoy for years to come!
